5 Social Media Marketing Tips to Boost Business


A website is only part of a company’s online presence. Social media can also shape your online image. 1) Post Consistently!

Regularly posting quality content on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, etc. will establish your business as an authority online. Not only will posting build brand awareness, it will also help to boost your ranking in Google and generate more business.


However, to post content on a routine basis, you need a to make a game plan. Without deciding how many posts to publish on each platform you’re targeting, the task can easily fall by the wayside. Set your posting goals for Facebook or Twitter, and then stick to them!  If you’re not sure which platform is best for your company, consider the channel that most of your ideal customers are on. If your clients are all on Pinterest for example, concentrate your efforts on making engaging pins.


Remember, not all content is created equal. Make sure your content is interesting, relevant, helpful, or entertaining. Don’t oversaturate your posts with advertisements. If you only try to sell people products or services, it may turn people away.


2) Post Photos.

Use visual elements to attract more readers and potential customers! The highest percent of shared posts on Facebook and Twitter are messages with photos in them. For example, more than 85 percent of shared posts on Facebook in 2014 had a photo in them. This means that if you want your followers to share your post, it’s best to have an image in it.


3) Interlink Your Media.

If you make a post on social media, don’t forget to link it to an appropriate spot on your website. For example, if you are sharing a customer testimonial about your product, be sure to include a link to your website that allows your audience to purchase that item. This will not only drive traffic to your site, it will also help you convert leads into customers.


4) Measure Your Results.

How do you know your social media marketing strategy is effective? How do you know you’re using your time wisely? Check the numbers. Look into how many likes, shares or views your posts got. Then determine how your sales have changed since you started your social media campaign. Tracking your social media ROI will help you see how effective your efforts are and will allow you to adjust your campaigns accordingly.


5) Check Out the Competition.

Is one of your competitors extremely strong on social media? Take notice of what they’re doing that makes them successful. Make notes on the following:


  • How often does that company post?

  • What kind of content do they share?

  • What time of day do they post?

  • What kinds of headlines do they use?
