The more you optimize your Google My Business profile, the better your chances of showing up prominently within search results. This helps you get more organic (free) reviews from your customers.
Claiming your profile
If you are an established business, you'll locate your listing simply by searching for your company’s name. Once you find it, all you need to do is claim the profile. If you're search results do not allow you to claim, then it's likely time to create your google business account profile. Follow this link to create yours (it's free!).
Check for accuracy
Make sure everything included in your profile is updated with relevant information - business name, address, hours of operation, phone number and email address. This will make it easier for customers to find you!
Describe your business
Google My Business allows you to write a summary of the products and services your business provides. Adding this description is a great way to help customers better understand your mission and value.
Select categories
Select relevant categories. This helps your business rank higher in relevant search results. Pick up to 10 relevant categories for your business. For example, a hair salon that also does waxing can choose categories like "hair salon" and "hair removal service.”
Once you've completed the above tasks, you'll be ready to ask your customers for a Google Review!
Texting or emailing your direct review link is a great way to make the process of leaving a review easy for a customer. All your recipients need to do is click the link and leave a review.
Email signature
Add a review request within your email signature with a direct link to your business’s profile on Google My Business.
How to automate getting Google Reviews
Connecting with each customer is important while providing a great customer experience, but if you have a large customer base, manually requesting feedback from all your customers at the right times would be a tedious, impossible task. This is why we recommend that you automate the process of getting reviews with a Rate5 account. Let review generation be part of your business, just like sending invoices. A review management platform like Rate5 can take care of the whole process for you. Our platform routes customers directly to the Google review form in a single click, making the process of writing a review very easy. Rate5 takes care of this process for Google and over 150 other review sites. The Rate5 system is fully integrated with Google, so every step of the review collection process is automatic. In fact, Rate5 is powered by Birdeye, which is one of the few companies integrated directly with Google's private API, making the collection process easier than ever.
